Caution here, in my experience, narcissistic leaders don’t appreciate being told “no” and believe they are always right, which speaks to the level of their narcissism and delusions of grandiose behavior.

4. Seek Support: Don’t hesitate to reach out to colleagues, mentors, or a professional counselor. Sharing your experiences and seeking advice can provide new perspectives and coping strategies.

5. Focus on Solutions: Instead of dwelling on the negatives, concentrate on what you can control. Propose constructive solutions to problems, which can demonstrate your initiative and problem-solving skills.

6. Educate and Advocate: If your boss is inexperienced, there may be an opportunity to educate them on the realities of healthcare. Share relevant information, guidelines, and best practices in a respectful manner.

7. Utilize Chain of Command: If your boss’s behavior is affecting patient care or creating a toxic work environment, follow your organization’s protocol for reporting these issues. Escalate the matter to higher authorities if necessary.
